Lee-David de Haas

Lee-David de Haas , took a keen interest in documenting life on Johannesburgs streets shortly after attending the late David Goldblatts school who is one of South Africas God Fathers in documentary photography. Lee-David picked up his craft late in life after finding himself stuck between careers and with a curious eye ventured into the world of photography. Lee-David has been documenting life in the streets for the past 4 years in and around Johannesburg’s suburbs telling stories of strangers in their every day routine. Lee-David picked up an award early on in his career by taking first place in Apple’s Iphonography contest for 2015 in the Absolute Africa category and with the love for film photography he went on to take first place in an international film photography contest with Kodak in the category For The Love in 2017.

Lee-David in 2017 managed to gain a top pick in the Lens Culture world street awards and to date Lee-David has featured across various Street Photography accounts on Instagram with a head feature on the very prestigious Street Photography International Instagram account. You can follow his work on Instagram @iateazombie or catch him in the streets across johannesburg interacting with people from different walks of life.

’ In Street Photography the best moments come from the corner of your eye , its an art that requires patience , staying focused and most of all anticipate the unexpected ‘        Lee-David de Haas
